If your vehicle is a 2015

This display kit is not a plug and play upgrade. You also need to upgrade the brain unit (disc drive in your glovebox) to an MIB2.

If your vehicle is a 2018+

Check your glovebox for a Brain Unit (disc drive) mechanism. If this does not exist in your glovebox, you will instead need a full MIB2 Retrofit Kit along with some additional wiring harnesses/accessories

Pros: - Shipping and packaging were excellent. Everything is carefully packaged with lots of foam and bubble wrap to ensure nothing gets damaged during shipping. - Really makes the MK7 interior feel much more modern. The larger display equals less blank plastic and just looks so much better in the center stack. - Viewing things with lots of detail like the backup camera or the satellite view in Google Maps is much nicer compared to the smaller display. - I like that this one has the slightly less useless "Setup" button instead of the totally useless "Voice" button on the smaller display. - Plug and play (minus having to modify the connector which isn't hard to do at all) with no coding required for full functionality (more on that later though). Cons: - As some other reviews have mentioned, the only thing you are getting is a larger display. I do notice when looking at the display closely that the picture is not as sharp as on the smaller display, and wish VW would have made the display with a higher resolution. The display looks fine from my normal driving position though. - Removing the bezel can be a bit tricky. You just have to be patient with it, and I recommend referencing the new bezel included in the kit to see where the tabs you need to pry out are. - After installing this, I noticed I had a B201A00 DTC in module 5F. This code does not affect functionality at all, and there are ways of clearing it on the forums, but it's something to keep in mind if you're OCD like me and don't like seeing any codes when you do a scan in VCDS or OBDeleven. TL;DR: All MK7s should have come with this from the factory, and if you're thinking about purchasing this, do it, it's great!

I purchased the 8-inch screen retrofit for my 2016 GTI S. It arrived quickly. The installation was simple with the included instructions. It's OEM, so no functionality glitches. The larger screen calls your attention to the limited resolution, but the extra real estate helps when simultaneously displaying Google Maps and Spotify. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

I found this screen upgrade through a member of a Facebook group for Mk7 GTI owners. I had several questions, and EuroZone were extremely prompt in answering all of my questions. They shipped very quickly and the packaging was impeccable. The instructions were well written and very clear. To the most important thing, the screen is huge! It's an upgrade that should be factory equipped in NAR cars. It works perfectly and looks great! If you are thinking about upgrading, save yourself the time and just upgrade!

For those of you on the fence about this upgrade, do it. I felt the same way because on paper 1.5" just isn't seem like a huge upgrade. When you get it in the car you really appreciate the size difference. This is the way the car should have come from the factory. The larger screen just brings the car into 2019. Regular functionality, Apple CarPlay, maps etc are all much easier to use and see. Not that the GTI had a tiny screen before, but it felt a little cramped on the 6.5 screen. The one area that I have been the most impressed with is the backup camera video. Seems like a silly thing to be impressed with, but I feel like I can actually see with the larger screen. Overall, I would do this upgrade again in a heartbeat. Take your time with the installation, there are a couple tricky spots, but overall 15-20 minutes and you should be done.
