We’ve all been there—your service light pops on, and it’s time to give your car the care it deserves. For John’s 2012 VW GLI, we documented the oil change process using EZT’s Motul Oil Change Kit. Watching the used oil drain is always a satisfying moment. While we waited for the oil to fully empty, John took a well-earned coffee break.

With the old oil gone, it was time to install the new factory drain plug, torqued to 30 Nm to ensure a proper seal. After lowering the car back to the ground, we swapped out the old oil filter for a fresh OEM one, tightening it to 25 Nm for a snug fit. Then came the highlight—pouring in 4.9 quarts of Motul 5W-40 oil. This Italian-made, high-performance oil is known for its superior lubrication, thermal stability, and ability to extend engine life. It’s a perfect match for European vehicles like the VW GLI.
