This retrofit kit will allow you to upgrade the stock unit from your 2015+ VW Golf/GTI/Golf R to a European 9.2" Discover Pro MIB2.5 unit.

Upgrading to this kit will give you the new 9.2" Display, GPS Navigation, Apple Carplay/Android Auto and Gesture Control (swipe your hand in front of display to change menus). Our retrofit kit includes the following components:

OEM Discover Pro MIB2.5 infotainment unit in like-new condition

Component Protection removed, to allow for a nearly plug and play install. May need some minor VCDS programming to fully function in your VW

OEM 9.2" Display and OEM Bezel/Trim with Vent

In Gloss Black trim color (only color available). Brand new.

4x Trim Removal Keys

Needed to remove your stock unit from its stock glovebox harness location

Fitment Notes:

If your vehicle is a 2015

The USB Upgrade Kit is needed to use Apple Carplay/Android Auto
The 8" display and bezel upgrade is mandatory. Your existing display cannot be used with the MIB2

If your vehicle is a 2018+

Check your glovebox for a Brain Unit/CD slot mechanism. If this does not exist, you will also need a Relocation Wiring kit and a new Inner Glovebox Assembly to complete the retrofit.
The 8" display and bezel upgrade is mandatory. Your existing display cannot be used with the MIB2

Other notes:

Minor Vagcom programming needed if your vehicle is equipped with Fender Audio
Include your VIN Number with your payment in the "Notes" section
Please allow 1-2 weeks before item ships for programming purposes.
Unit is EU Spec with North American maps installed. Sirius Radio will not function on these units.

I debated going this route for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. My stock screen quit displaying due to a MIB1 failure i believe. Looked into several options and determined upgrading would be the way to go. This improves to look of the interior so much. The screen is awesome. Install was a breeze. I have the vcds and was able to make the change to get the audio to work with my fender amp. The backup camera is awesome now. All the steering wheel functions work as well. Definitely recommend. My photo shows the difference in stock screen.

This unit is now installed in my 2015 MK7 GTI S and the Install was a cinch. Obviously the main issue would be fishing the new USB harness from the cubbie to the glove box. I used a piece of rigid 1/4" water line tubing like you would run your ice machine at home behind your fridge..... from the glove box to behind where the screen goes then aimed it down and fished one end to the cubbie. Then I black taped the harness wire and gently tugged it through eventually pulling out the taped end. I did have to shave down the two pins as shown on YouTube and it worked perfectly out of the box. MIB 2.5 with that fresh 9.2" screen is epic. I hated that slow 6" deck. If you have the money, buy this. The price will go up. Pay the price to do it right the first time. My only gripe was at $2000.00 I slammed this bad boy on my best buy credit card so I'd get the bonus instore bucks.... (a lot).. but the transaction went through as "Computer programming" instead of merchandise so I didn't get the points. Had I known I'd have used a different card, but that's a me thing. I contacted tech support a few times and got immediate responses back with exactly the info I needed. No lights on in the dash means I know it was done right. Thanks guys!

This has been a great upgrade to my 2016 Golf R. The extra screen real estate is very cool. Even better is the increased power and responsiveness of the brain unit upgrade. My stock unit was really struggling with Android Auto. Everything runs ultra fast now, with no annoying system restarts. Ran into a couple of minor issues on the installation but the Eurozone team is very responsive to email questions. I had to shave down some tabs on the new plugs, so you probably want to have a small metal file handy. YouTube was quite helpful as well as questions arose. It was pricey, but for me it kinda feels like having a new car. Worth the money in my opinion.

Went from a degraded MIB1 screen to the 9.2" MIB2.5 screen in just about an hour! The display is gorgeous and works like a charm. Its a great upgrade and makes my 2015 Golf SportWagen TDI S feel like a much newer, higher trim model. There is not much else I could want to change within the car. Between the included installation guides and a couple YT videos to confirm the disassembly, the process was simple. An extra length of stiff wire and some electrical tape helped fish the new USB cable from the "change drawer" to the glove box, which was likely the most time consuming part. Everything worked as soon as I reconnected the battery, and powered on the car.

Works great! The screen is much clearer than my old 6 inch one. The brain unit is much quicker with navigation. In the beginning, there was no sound, but I got quick response from Bill, fixed with a simple configuration without coding.
