This unit is now installed in my 2015 MK7 GTI S and the Install was a cinch. Obviously the main issue would be fishing the new USB harness from the cubbie to the glove box. I used a piece of rigid 1/4" water line tubing like you would run your ice machine at home behind your fridge..... from the glove box to behind where the screen goes then aimed it down and fished one end to the cubbie. Then I black taped the harness wire and gently tugged it through eventually pulling out the taped end. I did have to shave down the two pins as shown on YouTube and it worked perfectly out of the box. MIB 2.5 with that fresh 9.2" screen is epic. I hated that slow 6" deck. If you have the money, buy this. The price will go up. Pay the price to do it right the first time. My only gripe was at $2000.00 I slammed this bad boy on my best buy credit card so I'd get the bonus instore bucks.... (a lot).. but the transaction went through as "Computer programming" instead of merchandise so I didn't get the points. Had I known I'd have used a different card, but that's a me thing. I contacted tech support a few times and got immediate responses back with exactly the info I needed. No lights on in the dash means I know it was done right. Thanks guys!

Perfect!! For 2016 Golf R

Awesome experience. Bill was super responsive and very helpful with his answers. The install went super easy. As for the product - what an upgrade. Complete game changer and the updated size is amazing.

Great product, fast shipping and support after the sale.

Went without the glass. Not for the savings. With the analog dash in my '17 I felt it the pushbuttons matched the interior better.
Also, while I like the look of the larger screen, the increased FOV when using the rearview camera is the greatest part of the upgrade.

Very nice, high quality!

I bought a 2017 Golf R 2 months ago and of course I instantly got bit by the mod bug. I randomly came across this euro 8" screen upgrade after watching a video. I would constantly visit Eurozone's website debating whether or not to purchase it and I eventually pulled the trigger. I can say I don't regret it one bit!!! I LOVE that it's OEM but just bigger. It's definitely a worth while upgrade in my opinion. Unless your familiar with the MK7 platform you wouldn't even notice it was upgraded. The screen / bezel arrived in perfect shape and works flawlessly. The box that it was shipped in has foam with cutouts that it perfectly fits in so you can be a sure it will arrive safe. I wouldn't hesitate to make future purchases from Eurozone Tuning!

The install was relatively simple except for the new USB harness that took a bit of time. The discover pro is superior to the stock infotainment system that comes with the 2015 VW GTI. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to this unit. You will Not regret it.

Super happy! My european vw golf 7 estate from 2016 came with a small 5.8 inch discover media screen in combination with, luckely, a mib2 head unit in the glove compartment. With this package I was able to replace the screen within 15 minutes with a nice 8 inch discover pro screen. First I disconnected the negative pole of the car battery. The first time starting the car caused some error messages, but they all disappeared after 20 seconds of driving.

Net savings, about $2,000.00 . Well worth a five star review

I was worried that the new screen wasn’t worth the price. I was wrong. It is well-worth it.

This is probably one of my favorite mods to my car since I see it every time I get in to drive. I wish my car had come with this from the factory, the extra screen size is worth it. Plus it is a smooth face with no buttons which gives a clean appearance on the console.
The install was very straight forward, follow the included instructions. Just go slow and easy when trying to get the vent assembly out so that you don't break it. It is a large piece with several clips that need to be released before it will come out completely. After the fact note: if you disconnect the Hazard button / Airbag warning light in the vent, be prepared to have to reset the Airbag fault that might come on when you reconnect the battery (VCDS -> [Select] -> [15-Airbags] -> [Fault Codes] -> [Clear Codes]).

What a nice upgrade! You’d be surprised what an extra 1.5” will do for you! Easy install as well.

Great OEM plus upgrade. I have the base non nav version.

So I knew I wanted to get rid of the stock 6.5" basic LCD screen in my 2017 Golf R. I saw the 2018 screen and that's what I wanted! I'm so glad I came across Bill and EZT - this screen kit is so awesome. The installation isn't hard work but there were some hiccups for me personally. Definitely watch this video so you can see how to do this work (especially if you're a novice like me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLHauYDpng0
There are some really good points in this video so watch it all. USE PLENTY OF LIGHT. I was doing mine at night so light was an issue for me.
I disconnected my negative battery terminal with a 10mm socket as shown in the video.
I started at the bottom of the trim beneath the screen. It was hard at first and required some real leverage and prying with my hands. Once it was lifting off, then the sides came out easy. Then you should pull out the emergency button/airbag light between the two vents (get a small plastic pry tool and work it from the left/ride sides until it pops out - pretty easy). Remove the two connectors on the back - you'll need a small needle nose something to poke the tiny bit that holds the tab in. Use a bright light so you can see what you're doing. The hardest part was actually the top and around the vents. There are some metal springs that look like almost flattened V's. I ended up taking off ALL the trim and then pulling out the vents which had the metal spring tabs. There are like 4 across the top and two beneath the vents. Make sure you have some of those plastic pry tools ready (you can get them on Amazon for $10 - just search for: "Auto Trim Door Panel Window Molding Upholstery Fastener Clip Removal Tool Kit"). Once all the trim is off, the rest is really easy. Be sure you check all the Metal Spring Clip inserts just like show in the video above - I had one of these pop out and I missed it upon reinstall b/c I was working at night - GET LOTS OF LIGHT!.+ Use the four metal keys to remove the old NAV screen - there are little pictures on the NAV unit to show you how to insert them (top mirrors bottom - there are four - two on top two on bottom). Then the screen just pulls out EASY so be careful. Then you need to disconnect the two cables on the back - again pay attention to the small tabs and clips - keep that small pokey tool around to help with these. Once you have that old NAV screen free throw that shit into a fire! (actually don't) Now just get your new screen, connect the two cables on the back (mine fit perfectly but I understand some need filing/trimming so have a file/razor tool handy if your car needs that). Now just slide the new screen into place - you'll hear it snap in. Make sure it's not wiggly or moving around. It should seat firmly. Now get your new trim and vents. Make sure all those metal tabs are back in place (they might have stuck to the old trim so check all the tabs). Now start at the top and insert the vents, carefully feed the two wires for the emergency/passenger air bag light between the vents. Go slowly and snap each tab/spring connector into place. It's easy but go slow and be careful - the bottom needed more finesse and coaxing to get it back into place but it finally popped in. Now connect your two wires to the emergency/passenger air bag light and gently push that back into place until it snaps.
Reconnect your negative battery terminal and start your car. (you could do this before putting the trim back in place to test things first and make it easy if anything went wrong with the connectors - in fact that might be the safest way since getting the trim off is the hardest part).
If you disconnected your terminal, you're going to get ALL the warning lights. This is normal. Just start your car, drive around for a few minutes and 99% of them go away. There is one light that will go away next time you start the car. All your settings will be the same if you only changed the NAV screen. That's it! Now enjoy that bright, crisp new 8" screen!
If you are even remotely thinking about getting the larger 8" NAV screen, just do it. Consider the fact that your NAV screen is a very frequent point of interface for the car. I use it for performance monitor, NAV, Calls, Music/Stereo, and a really big one is the backup camera. I LOVE having a huge, clear screen for backing up - it is worth it just for this.
Seriously just get this new 8" glass NAV Screen!

This product is a must have if you have a car that is terrible rear visibility and is difficult to place within the lines of a parking spot because of ultra-wide fenders! Would highly recommend it!

The package was shipped fairly quickly, coming to Canada I had to wait for customs to apply taxes and duties, but the radio was packaged nicely, and came with some easy to read instructions on how to remove and reinstall the radio. After some work routing the USB/Aux port to my centre console, it was all back together and working within an hour, and is SO MUCH better than the radio it replaces. It is fast, smooth, and the graphics look amazing, and Android Auto is really nice to use. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants the features of new cars, but can't afford a newer car, or prefer the older body style.

It is so much better than the Rcd510 that it is replacing.

I’m very pleased with the 8 inch screen and bezel. It makes a world of difference, crystal clear.

The new screen is awesome! Install was a breeze and took about 15 minutes. Its a bit expensive but worth every penny.

This toolset is a must have for the screen / MIB brain removal tools alone.

I got the necessary parts really quickly and even was saved from buying an unnecessary piece by Bill when he confirmed my setup. Thank you Bill. The installation was less than 2 hours at my local shop and cost $120, so this was a pretty affordable add-on. Very pleased.

Install was a bit dicey, but the end result was great. My vents would not cooperate and refused to come out of the dash. Seems that VW has a special tool to free them up. Many people have them slide right out without much effort. but I wasn't so lucky. So I had a pro finish up the install before I broke something, and that went smoothly and didn't cost much. VERY happy with the 8" screen vs the original 6.5" size. Highly recommended upgrade!
